Hosiden Besson Limited opens Test facility
Pay as you go testing proves a big hit.
Hove, East Sussex. 17 October 2005 A pay as you go type test facility has been opened by Hosiden Besson as part of a new promotion to use their in house test equipment.
Hosiden Besson form part of the Sussex Euro Compliance Group (SECG) and have a turnover in excess of £40million designing and manufacturing electro-acoustic test equipment at their plant in Hove. The facility offers customers the opportunity to arrange a variety of testing of own brand products on a 'look and see' basis and only be invoiced for the hours spent on set up and test.
Customers can book to use equipment such as Climatic Chambers, Vibration and Bump test rigs and many other pieces of equipment that are used to meet the requirements of BS EN 60068-2.
The idea was formulated after Hosiden Besson spent thousands of pounds testing products to meet new European approvals and test houses insisting that if the unit failed it was a new booking slot resulting in additional costs.
Senior Quality Test engineer, Trevor Barber says "this new innovation is certain to prove a success as most test engineers need to be certain that the product is ready for test prior to making the test house booking. With this system, although we are not NAMAS approved, engineers can test at a fraction of the cost and have results which offer a level of confidence."
